I offer confidential, person-centred online counselling for adults and young people aged 12+ who have been affected by trauma, sexual abuse or difficult life experiences.
You may be dealing with something that happened recently, or experiences from many years ago. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationships, self-esteem or feelings that are difficult to make sense of.
Counselling can give you space to explore what has happened and how it is affecting you now..
The effects of trauma and sexual abuse can be different for everyone. You might be experiencing:
You don't need to know exactly what you need help with before coming to counselling. We can take time to understand what you're experiencing together.
I have particular experience supporting people affected by sexual abuse, including childhood sexual abuse (CSA), and people living with the effects of trauma.
I also offer pre-trial therapy in accordance with CPS guidelines for people who have experienced sexual abuse and are considering or going through the criminal justice process.
My experience has taught me how important it is to listen carefully and to recognise that everyone responds to difficult experiences differently.
My approach is person-centred. This means that you are the expert in your own experience.
I won't tell you what you should do or expect you to talk about anything before you are ready. Instead, we'll work together to understand what feels important to you and what you would like from counselling.
I aim to provide a warm, respectful and accepting space where you can talk openly without judgement.
Choosing a counsellor can feel daunting, particularly when you are considering talking about painful or difficult experiences.
I offer a free 30-minute online consultation so we can talk about what you're looking for, ask any questions you may have and see whether you feel comfortable working with me.
If you'd like to talk about counselling, I'd be happy to hear from you. We can talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions you may have and see whether you feel comfortable working with me.
There's no obligation to continue.
